Better Late Than Never

We celebrated Landon and Nina's Birthday at our house. Nana, Papa and the Olsens came over to PARTY. The boys LOVE their Papa! On Labor Day the party continued. We woke up early so we could beat the crowds at Zuma. Man was it crowded. The water was warm and the waves were huge. Lucky me, my kids can swim and surf without me worrying every second so I got to surf ALL day. I was sooooo beat the next day. Boogey boarding is such a great work out. I thought the boys looked cute for Spirit Day, which is every Friday. Life is busy!

It's the BEST Day Ever!

The boys had their first day of school today. Wyatt's in 1st and Landon's in 4th. Time really does fly. Jeff walks the boys to school almost everyday. It's a great tradition. Today is one of the best day's of the year for me. It's kind of like Christmas. Today I can finally have a little peace and quiet for a few hours and get some stuff done that I have been procrastinating.



The Boys were soooo tired from all of the surfing. They couldn't even put the surfboards in the car and fell asleep right when they got in the car. I thought they looked so cute.

Landon and Wyatt surfed for 3 1/2 hrs. straight.

Condo Camping

Hip hip hooray! We finally went on a vacation this summer. This is one of the happy quiet moments of the 6 hour drive up to the High Sierra's. Our family is in a new stage, the fighting teasing one. We've graduated from the crying, diaper changing and the are we there yet to constant bickering. Thank goodness for dvd players and Scooby Doo movies.

Wyatt wanted to take a little dip in the freezing lake water up by Tioga Pass. This action is a BIG no no in the Taylor Family Rule Book of Fishing.

Landon turned 9yrs. old on Saturday. This is his second birthday celebration in the mountains. Jeff and I can't believe how fast time has flown by.

Papa John oversaw Wyatt's fishing. It looks as though he is taking a nap, but trust me he is watching.

Catching Up

Today I'm playing catch up! We went to the Ventura County Fair 2 weeks ago.
After the fair we went to the beach. The kids had a great time looking for crabs and catching waves on the boogy boards.

Wyatt lost a bottom tooth. Landon is starting football. Wyatt lost another bottom tooth. All the boys decided to dress like Captain Underpants. I can use this picture for future blackmail. Boys are funny, I could make millions writing a book about bodily functions. We celebrated Samuel's Birthday Taylor style with doughnuts.

Creative Time

Landon drew these great dinosaur pictures. I was paying bills and came out of my room to check on the boys and found them getting crafty.

Growing and Blooming

I am trying to grow in a new area, sewing. My mother is teaching me to sew. I decided to start with pajama bottoms for the boys and myself. It is definitely not a cheap way to get clothes($60 at Joanns), but a good skill to learn. I let the boys pick out their own fabric. Which one of us do you think picked skulls, flowers or the money? I finished my pants and will have to post those pics. I love the pattern, but I do fill like I'm Bozo the Clown in them.

Landon gave me this Sunflower plant for Mother's Day. It was just a little seedling when he gave it to me and look at how big it is. This is the first plant I haven't forgotten about and let die. It used to be on my kitchen counter until it got too big and then I moved it to the dining room. I'm sooo proud of myself. It did have one accident(with too active boys that's bound to happen). I perfomed surgery with the help of Scotch tape and the flower bloomed the next day. It's not the prettiest Sunflower, but it's very special to me.

California Summer

We had some friends from Utah visit us the week before last and then I left my camera in my Dad's car, but I'm back to blogging. We had fun with our friends and went to the beach everyday. Wyatt is most at home at the beach.

This year was the first time in a long time I went in the water. I love it. I don't know if it's my new insulation, but everytime I go to the beach I have to get in and join in on the fun. Wyatt said I was the best boogeyboarder ever.

The boys have a new found passion, SURFING. They both got up the first time out.
Wyatt wants to go to the beach EVERYDAY. He wakes up and comes running into my bedroom and asks if we are going to the beach. We love California Summer's!

Simple Sabbath

I thought Landon looked handsome(even though he isn't wearing a white shirt, sorry Mom). He is wearing 2 tie tacks. One is and airplane from his Papa and the other is a gold nugget from Jeff. I noticed it when we were sitting down in church and thought it was funny.

We had Nana and Papa over for a Tri-tip dinner. I love living so close to my parents. They are great grandparents and a awesome influence in my childrens lives.

I made Mary's chocolate chip cookie recipe she got from a friend. They were great! It was a simple Sunday.

Kick Back Saturday!

Wyatt had me set up his tent. Landon and Wyatt loved using it as their little club house. They were going to sleep in it, but were to scared.

Landon was in a very creative mood and decided to make up a concoction. He put cream and sugar in a bottle and shook it up. He then thought of making lollypops. Landon got food coloring and sticks and then put it in the freezer. Wyatt joined in the fun.

For lunch today we went to our favorite Mexican Restaurant, Lupe's. If you are ever in Thousand Oaks and have a hankering for real Mexican/American food this is the place. I recommend the Chile Reino, Cheese Enchilada or the Guacamole Chicken Flour Taco. The chips and salsa are the best!

After lunch we went to a great little park. The kids had fun monkeying around at the park while Jeff and I relaxed in the shade. Can you believe Landon's shoes! They are only a couple of months old. My two boys are so hard on clothes and shoes. Jeff and the boys decided to have some more fun and went on our secret rope swing. The last picture is of Jeff's bow and arrow. He truly is a kid at heart. He made the bow and the arrow himself. The tip of the arrow is real rock and has feathers at the end. He shot it off and it really works.
